Dear Parents/Carers,

I want to begin by thanking you for your continued support for your child’s education and for our school during this past academic year. This year started with us celebrating great results for our Year 11 and Year 13 students, and we are ending with a set of events involving all our students: I have greatly enjoyed seeing the students benefitting from the recent sports days and cultural visits. We have also had some wonderful celebrations of our students’ talent – with our applauded creative summer showcase - and we will finish with our achievement assemblies. I do want to praise and thank our students and staff for all the work that they have done this year, both in lessons and across the wider aspects of our school. Thank you, too, to all parents and carers for all your support for your child and the school.

I look forward to continued success for all in our school next year – building on our strengths and school values. The recent OFSTED report has endorsed our view of our strengths and we look forward to improving further.

This year has been touched by tragedy. I also look ahead to leading the work we are doing around wellbeing of all – including the development of the SNS Headspace fund which focuses on positive mental health.

End of this school year

School ends on Thursday 20th July. This last day of term will be a non uniform charity day: the students will be raising money for our school charity and fund, the Pete Brennan Trust and the Headspace Fund, by donating £1 each for the privilege of not wearing uniform. The last day of term starts at the usual time of 8.40am and will finish at 11.45am.

School day information for next year

Please note that revision and extension classes held during Period 6 for all students are compulsory. Year 9 students will have received a separate letter about their lunchtime arrangements for next term.

Equipment for next year

Please see here for more details about uniform and compulsory equipment for Year 7 to 11 students: this includes a rucksack for books, etc., and a pencil case with suitable stationery. Please note the rules about school shoes and outerwear.

Thank you again for the wonderful support you have given the school this year. We look forward to seeing you next year.

Very best wishes for an enjoyable and restful holiday,

Annie Gammon
