Stoke Newington School is a diverse school with students from Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, Europe and South America.
30 different languages are spoken in the school by over 460 students, representing nearly a third of students in the school. We have a team dedicated to helping our students and their families with English as an additional language have a positive and communicative relationship with the school.
What CEAL do:
- we help pupils with English as an additional language with their lessons and
with their homework
- we have members of staff who speak
Polish and Turkish who interpret at parents
meetings and other events. We can also find people to translate other languages
if this is needed
- we organise two grand events every year: International evening in March and the
Black History Month celebration in October. We welcome parent involvement in
both events so please contact our CEAL department if you would like to get
involved: 020 7241 9631
