15.30 – 16.30

Mondays A & B, beginning Monday 27th September (until the end of term)

Haggerston Track

BMX racing is a fast paced, adrenaline filled Olympic sport on a bicycle with a 20" wheel, usually consisting of a start gate, 4 straights (complete with obstacles) and 3 berms (banked corners).

In these sessions you'll learn techniques for getting around a BMX track safely, how to generate speed on a track, and work on how you can improve your general bike handling skills and confidence on a bicycle, by both riding BMX's on flat ground and on a BMX pump track.

Riders will need to attend in sensible riding shoes (nothing with open toes) and must be wearing long trousers and long sleeves to take part (all skin covered). BMX race bikes and helmets will be provided. If you have a pair of gloves (any kind of gloves that fit you), please bring them to protect your hands.

These sessions are for Stokey girls. Arrive at the changing rooms at 3pm to meet Mr Medway, who will drive you over to Haggerston Track. Students will have to make their own way back, for which parental consent will be required.

Parents will need to fill out the following forms to enrol their child in the BMX sessions:
