We want all of our students to enjoy their secondary education, do exceptionally well academically and to grow personally and socially as active citizens in our community.

We are an inclusive school, catering for students of all abilities. From the numerous students who achieve many A and A* grades at GCSE and A Level, through to students with specific learning needs, we provide very well targeted teaching and additional opportunities so that every child can achieve to the best of their ability.

Our results are good and rising year after year. GCSE and A level results and progression from Year 11 and Year 13 are very strong. The fact that so many students choose to stay on into our Sixth Form and take the qualifications they need to get into the universities of their choice is proof of our success.

Our ‘out of hours’ programme complements the curriculum, providing extra support and extension opportunities for students. It is not all about academic study - the programme involves a wide range of arts and leisure clubs and activities – including outstanding art, drama and sporting opportunities, and we encourage all of our students to take part. Some lead to accreditation and they all build confidence and help our students flourish.

I am immensely proud of all our students. We host
many visits from educationalists based in the UK and abroad and, again and again, they tell us how impressed they are by our students’ enthusiasm and vitality, their self-confidence and creativity. We are, without a doubt, preparing our students to make their own way confidently in the world.

I very much look forward to welcoming you at our school.
