We have a comprehensive range of measures in place to help keep our pupils safe, including robust safeguarding and child protection policies, safer recruitment practices, staff training, and regular risk assessments. We work closely with external agencies, including Children's Social Care, the Police, Health Services, and other safeguarding partners, to ensure that pupils receive the support and protection they need.
We recognise that abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harm can take many forms. All staff are trained to identify concerns, respond appropriately, and follow clear procedures for reporting and recording safeguarding issues. We are committed to creating a culture where pupils feel safe, listened to, and supported.
We believe that every pupil has the right to learn in an environment where they feel safe, respected, valued, and able to thrive. Supporting pupils' mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing is a key part of our safeguarding responsibility. We work in partnership with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure that pupils receive appropriate support whenever concerns arise.

Confidentiality and Information Sharing

Pupils are encouraged to speak to a trusted adult if they have concerns about their own safety or the safety of another child. While we will always listen carefully and treat information sensitively, we cannot promise to keep information confidential if doing so may place a child or another person at risk of harm.
In such circumstances, we have a legal duty to share information with relevant safeguarding professionals to help protect children and young people. Any information shared will be handled appropriately, securely, and in accordance with safeguarding legislation and data protection requirements. The welfare of the child will always remain our primary consideration.

Reporting a Concern

If a child is in immediate danger or at risk of significant harm, please contact the Police on 999 and/or Children's Social Care without delay.
