Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope this message finds you well despite the warm weather. In the interest of safeguarding the health and wellbeing of our pupils, staff, and wider school community, we have taken the decision to implement the following measures.

Tuesday 23rd June – School will close at 12.20pm

Students will be able to purchase lunch during breaktime – 10.55am to 11.20am.

Students eligible for free school meals will be given their lunch at this time.

Do let me know if there are a particular challenges for your child to go home early tomorrow. Tuesday 23rd June, so we can make arrangements.

Wednesday 24th June and Thursday 25th June – School will be closed all day

Teachers will set work online for students to complete at home.

Year 11 and Year 13 Proms have been postponed, further information to those parents/carers will be sent shortly

We understand that these measures may cause inconvenience, however, the safety of everyone in our school is the highest priority. The temperatures forecast present a significant risk, particularly within school buildings which become excessively warm.

Please encourage your children to remain at home, stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun.

We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide further updates if required.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

Yours faithfully,

Zehra Jaffer

Headteacher
