British Rowing visits SNS
Rowing workshop and talent spotting for their ‘Get into Rowing’ programme
British Rowing visited SNS for the second year running to provide a rowing workshop and also talent spot potentials for their free ‘Get into Rowing’ programme.
The workshop is designed to give students an opportunity to learn about rowing and gain an insight into a sport that isn't widely available to young people.
Students learnt how to use the rowing machine, competed to see how far they could row, as well in took part in other conditioning exercises utilised by professional rowers.
Students who showed a particular aptitude for the sport were invited to British Rowing's 'Get into Rowing' programme.
Ms Hamilton, Head of PE, said: "It's always great to have British Rowing visit us and give an opportunity to our students to learn a bit more about rowing - a sport that is not easily accessible for many young people. Students also learn new ways to keep fit and active as well."
