Year-7-Drop-Down-Day-2026.gif
On Wednesday 21st October, SNS held a drop-down day for all Year 7 students, with a focus on oracy, confidence, creativity and dance.
Students took part in a varied programme of activities delivered by our partners Talk the Talk and Sadler’s Wells.
As part of our celebration of Black History Month, students participated in two hours of dance workshops led by facilitators from Sadler’s Wells. The sessions introduced students to a range of dance styles, including Hip-Hop, Afrobeats and Jazz, giving them the opportunity to be active, creative and expressive.
Students also took part in a Talk About Transition oracy workshop. Through a range of engaging oracy-based activities and strategies, students developed their self-confidence and resilience. The workshop supported students in building positive relationships, promoting wellbeing, increasing confidence in their new surroundings, strengthening connections with their peers and developing their communication and oracy skills.
Overall, the day provided Year 7 students with an exciting opportunity to build confidence, communicate, collaborate and express themselves creatively.
Comments from students:
