Year 8 and Year 9 Football
Well done to our girls' team for a great effort!
The Year 8 and 9 girls' football team faced a strong challenge against Forest School in an exciting and competitive fixture. Although the final score was 5-1 to Forest School, the scoreline did not fully reflect the game, as our girls matched their opponents in skill, determination and teamwork throughout much of the match. Unfortunately, we were unable to capitalise on some promising opportunities, while Forest School proved clinical in front of goal.
The highlight of the match was when we scored an outstanding goal with a strike from outside the penalty area. Her shot sailed over the goalkeeper's head, dipped perfectly under the crossbar and found the back of the net, leaving everyone watching impressed.
The girls should be proud of their performance and can take confidence from competing so well against a strong school. With a little more composure in front of goal, the result could have been much closer.
