Dear Parent/Carer,

The safety of our students is of utmost importance to the School. You may be aware that there has been an increase in robberies in the whole of Hackney, particularly around schools and parks. We are working closely with the police to protect our young people and local community. The advice from the police is for students to go home straight after their school commitments and ideally in small groups, avoiding any alleyways. Students should keep their phones out of sight and be aware of their surroundings. If they are worried or concerned about their safety they should come back to school or go into a local shop.

PC Hakim, our Safer Schools Officer, will be addressing all year groups next week to give safety advice and to encourage the students to report any incident to the police. We have also arranged a Drop-In Session for parents to meet with PC Hakim on Wednesday 30th January from 9.00am-10.00am, if you are unable to attend this session, but would like to speak to PC Hakim then please contact the school reception, so we may arrange contact. The School has also employed a security officer to provide additional support before and after school.

We will continue to review the situation and thank you for your ongoing support.

Yours faithfully

Zehra Jaffer
Headteacher
