Textiles students visit V&A East Storehouse
Students attended a workshop with a focus on waste and sustainability
Year 10 GCSE Textiles students visited the V&A East Storehouse. After a guided tour looking at artefacts that had been made using waste materials, and items of local interest, the students took part in an up-cycling fashion workshop with resident artists. The focus was waste and sustainability in fashion and textile design.
Our, Director of Creativity and Innovation, and Head of Textiles, Ms Cheetham said: "Thank you to the staff at V&A East Storehouse for hosting us, our students really learned a lot. Sustainability is such an important and pertinent part of the fashion industry at the moment, and will be even more vital by the time our Year 10 students are thinking about taking their first steps into the industry.
"Well done to all our students, they were excellent representatives of the school, and always asked great questions."
